Insanity?

I think that Claudius honestly thinks that Hamlet is on drugs, crazy, whatever you call it. King Claudius spends more time worring about Hamlet and trying to figure out if he is insane, then he spends with any other problem, such as the "international problems" with fortenbra... (i dont know how thats spelled)- he wrote those off and was more freaked out about hamlet. He also is putting so much time and energy into the matter, with the whole friends sent to spy and check up on him. If he thought it was all a joke, or an act, he wouldnt be wasting his time on Hamlet. Its not like he cares for the guy anyway. He's gotta be believeing this insanity act.

2 Questions.

ok question, what the heck, hamlet is a worse then an emotional girl... if you promise revenge, then do it. i dont care ifs he's praying... sooo. Why in the world didnt Hamlet man it up and take care of buisness?

and number two, Does Claudius realize that hamlet knows about the murder, or does he just want to send him away to save his own reputation as a king? (because who wants a mad man running around their kingdom...right)

LOVE or LUST?

There is a fine line between love and lust, and i believe that what Hamlet felt prior to his crazyness was lust confused as Love. He may have well belived that what he was feeling was love- he told her this and wrote about it, but how oftan do we all tell a boyfriend or girlfriend that we love them, but not really mean it. What we felt was temporary, "puppy love", not the real thing. And honestly, how could he ever have loved someone who he treats like absolute crap. If it was really love at one point, he would at least be treating here with respect despite his emotional freakouts. He not only is calling this girl he supposibly loved a whore, but disrespecting her father. I dont blame the guy, Polonius is a D-bag, but if he really loved her that most likley would not happen. Also, if you really loved someone you wouldnt go around telling sex jokes about the poor girl, let alone to her face. WHAT THE HECK. get a life Hamlet. Okay, i realize your father died, and your mother is a whore, but oh my, get a life. Basicly i think Hamlet is a drammatic baby who needs to get over himself and learn how to respect people, no matter the circumstance. Especially the person you claimed to have loved. Hamlet doesnt know LOVE, he only knows LUST.

Hamlet 3:i&ii

I think that Hamlet himself is being characterized as someone who is insane. Though his conversation with Ophilia is a little off the wall, with regards to her needing to be in a convent, this also can be viewd as his was of saying goodbye. He knows that he is acting wacko, and undestands that people are relizing that he isnt funtioning right. But i dont really question his sanity. There is something about his ability to talk to his friends in a civil matter that makes me wonder how much of what he is doing is simply an act itself.
